We repositioned the rear entry point higher up the wall to suit the new charger's location. This meant drilling a new hole and making good the old one. It sounds simple, but it's the kind of detail that separates a tidy, professional installation from a botched job.

How did we handle the electrical infrastructure?

We fitted a double pole isolator using Henley blocks before connecting the new EV charger. This gave us a dedicated isolation point for the charger circuit, separate from the main supply. Once the isolation was in place, we ran the 3.5 metre cable through the garage wall to the new dedicated EV consumer unit. The power came from the Henley blocks, giving the customer a clean, safe electrical setup that's ready for future upgrades like solar panels or battery storage.

Once the Zappi Glo was installed and wired in, we commissioned the system and showed the customer how to use the app. This is where the real value of a smart charger becomes clear.

To show them how it works, we turned on the kettle and watched the app display the kilowatts being pulled from the supply. Then we switched it off and showed them the drop.
