What does a solar panel site survey involve?
We visit your property and carry out a full roof assessment. We check the pitch and orientation of your roof relative to south, identify any shading from chimney stacks, trees, or neighbouring buildings, and assess the structural condition of the roof to confirm it is suitable for panels. We also check your loft space and consumer unit to plan the cabling route for the inverter and battery if required.
Most surveys take 45 to 60 minutes. At the end, we discuss the right system size for your usage, give you a clear breakdown of the costs, and explain the Smart Export Guarantee payments you can expect.

Why do national solar installers send self-survey forms?
Most national solar companies ask you to upload your own photos, fill in a form about your roof, and estimate your own electricity usage. They use that information to generate an online quote. The problem is that no two roofs are identical. Shading from a chimney that is slightly out of frame on your photo, a structural issue that only becomes visible from the loft, an undersized consumer unit. All of these get missed in a self-survey and surface as extra costs after you have signed a contract.
